Immediately after last night’s comeback win against the Blue Jackets, the Rangers returned forward Nicklas Jensen to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Jensen played three games in his recent stint with the Rangers, and has totaled seven games with the big club. He has been held off the score sheet while playing a bottom-six role.
Returning Jensen to the Wolf Pack is not a shocker, and may not even signal that a forward is healthy. The Rangers have their five day bye week starting today where they don’t practice, and the Pack has two games in that span. This could just be to keep Jensen’s legs moving. Also, the Rangers get some additional cap space for the trade deadline by sending his contract down, and every dollar counts.
