Rangers recall Marek Hrivik

As noted earlier, the Rangers have called up Marek Hrivik to replace one of Mats Zuccarello and Viktor Stalberg in tomorrow’s game in Detroit. Hrivik was recalled once by the Rangers this season, playing in four games and registering an assist. Hrivik didn’t look overmatched in that stint, and will get another chance to show he belongs.

This may be an extended tryout for Hrivik, who may be in a battle for a roster spot next year for the cap-strapped Rangers. But for now, it’s a one game call up before being part of the taxi squad.

  1. WoW!!! Two goals and an assist for Boo Nieves in tonight’s game with Springfield. Two goals & three assists in 3(?) games. Not too shabby for his AHL start. And his linemate Daniel Paille had 4 points. Boo can dish!

  2. A quick thought on the game against the Wings, I hope we loose, that puts extra pressure for Filthadelphia to win both of their games, or they don’t make the PO’s…………….You can’t imagine how much I dislike that organization, and their ownership !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Quicker thought: Rangers #5 in regulation wins, from what I remember was a better indicator of playoff success.

    1. In 55 games where PDO was 100+, the Rangers have 20 of those games against teams in the Eastern Conference bracket.

  4. I’ve been watching quite a bit of this Detroit team lately and they are going to surprise a lot of people in the playoffs, mark my words!

I’m right with you Walt! Philly is by far, my most hated team in professional sports…. Hell, I’ll even go further and say they’re my most hated entity in the world!!!

Happy to see my boy Hrivik play today, even if it’s just for one game.

God, I HATE these stupid noon games on NBC with the Ranger hater crew!

  5. sorry rob NBC will be doing Saturday afternoon game starting at 3:00pm and some of the guys do not hate us.
