Dreger: Evander Kane headed to Buffalo in huge trade

Per Darren Dreger, the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres are about to push through a huge trade involving Evander Kane. The principles of the trade:

To Buffalo: Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian, Jason Kasdorf
To Winnipeg: Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Brendan Lemieux, Joel Armia, 2015 1st round pick (lowest pick of the 3 Buffalo has)

This is preliminary, but wow. Both teams did well here. The Sabres basically replaced Myers with Bogo, and since Kane is out for the remainder of the year, don’t sacrifice positioning for a shot at Conor McJesus. The Jets get pieces to help them for their playoff push, plus two solid (middle six) prospects and a first round pick.

  • Looks like more too. I saw a tweet about Alexander Burmistrov being involved and another injured prospect from the Jets heading to Buffalo.

Looks like the Sabres are trying their best to finish the season with an ECHL team. While adding a whole lot of skill starting day 1 next season. Damn.

  • I think Buffalo is giving away a lil too much back in this one, but by very little.

God I wish we we’re able to snag him somehow, as I’ve always felt that he would flourish here….just a hunch. Maybe it’s because I’m biased, because like me, he’s a fellow Armenian/American lol

  • *Left out that I was talking about Bogosian coming back home, because I think he’s from upstate NY.

  • Better that Buffalo got Kane, than Sather give away the shop for a malignant cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Would have loved to pick up Kane but not at those price’s . Surprised Buffalo thu in a 1st , even tho it will be late 1st round still 1st round . Think Winnepeg has their own also .Like this trade for Winnepeg going forward Armia might just be for AHL but maybe Lemieu has some upside i’m told and Myers replace’s Bo.
