The trade deadline is today at 3pm, and the Rangers have already been active. They’ve acquired Ryane Clowe for draft picks, and are rumored to be in on Ryan O’Byrne, a right handed defenseman form Colorado. Jamie McBain was a name rumored to be available, but with Joni Pitkanen getting hurt, it’s unlikely the Canes move him.

11:32 – Sounds like Miikka Kiprusoff will block any trade as Darren Dreger reports that he will stay in Calgary and may retire at the end of the season.  Ben Bishop, Roberto Luongo and Ryan Miller just got more valuable.

12:03 – Not a trade, but the Winnipeg Jets picked up Mike Santorelli off waivers from the Florida Panthers.

12:05 – Another waiver claim: the Flyers picked up Adam Hall off waivers from Tampa Bay.

12:36 – The Predators have dealt D Scott Hannan to San Jose for a conditional 6th/7th round pick.

12:59 – Florida has traded F Jerred Smithson to Edmonton for a fourth-round pick.

1:44 – Carolina has dealt F Jussi Jokinen to the greedy Penguins for a conditional draft pick.

2:12 – Ottawa has traded G Ben Bishop to Tampa Bay for F Cory Conacher and a fourth-round pick.

2:31 – The Flyers have acquired G Steve Mason from the Blue Jackets for G Michael Leighton and a third-round draft pick.

2:37 – Reports indicate the Rangers have dealt Marian Gaborik to Columbus, if he’ll waive his no-trade clause.

2:54 – The Minnesota Wild have acquired F Jason Pominville and a fourth-round pick from the Buffalo Sabres for F Johan Larsson, G Matt Hackett a first-round pick and a second-round pick.

2:55 – Calgary has traded F Blake Comeau to Columbus for a fifth-round pick.

3:02 – Phoenix has traded Raffi Torres to San Jose for a third-round pick.

3:16 – Colorado has sent D Ryan O’Byrne to Toronto for a fourth-round pick.

3:24 – Phoenix has traded C Matthew Lombardi to Anaheim for Brandon MacMillan.

3:25 – The Bruins have acquired D Wade Redden from St. Louis for a draft pick.

3:34 – The Devils acquired LW Steve Sullivan from Phoenix for a seventh-round pick.

4:56 – Nashville has traded F Martin Erat and C Michael Latta to Washington for F Filip Forsberg.
