This post is non-hockey related. This post is about a few milestones we accomplished last month and today in terms of hits on this website.

A note about page views vs. hits: page views are counted each time a person clicks a post, tag, category, or any page we have linked here. For example, if you were to come to the site (1), click a post to comment (2), finish posting the comment (3), then click the salary cap page (4), then go back to the home page (5), then the stats would show five page views.

We emphasize website hits, where only the initial visit is counted. We do this because it shows how many different people come to the site on a daily basis.

Where am I going with all this?

Well, in December, we crossed the 100,000 hits (not page views) mark for the month. It is the first time we here at BSB hit 100,000 hits in a month.

By the time this post is published, the blog will also have crossed the 1,000,000 hits mark (again, not page views, hits). We did this in about three years.

The hits are a testament to all of you who continually read our ramblings, follow us on Twitter, and tell your friends. You have all been tremendous supporters of the blog, and from all of us here at BSB, we thank you for the past, present and future support.

Big thanks to Mike Axisa of River Ave Blues, who helped get the word out about this little sliver of internet space three years ago. A good majority of our original readers came from Mike’s links from RAB. So thank you, Mike.
