STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: It’s amazing how quickly a game against a non-playoff team becomes a must win after one of the worst performances of the year. The Rangers stunk it up in Buffalo, and now a game against the Islanders is a must win, and probably the most important game of the season. A win tonight rights the ship, and keeps the Rangers on track for a playoff spot. A loss tonight gives the Hurricanes more hope, and more importantly, a reason for the Rangers to panic. They need to win games against teams they should beat, and this is one of those last opportunities. Sleep walking will not be tolerated tonight.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Gaborik gets a hat trick.
