STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: The Rangers routed the lowly Islanders earlier this week, and special teams were the cause of the rout. Our beloved Blueshirts scored not one, not twice, but thrice on the powerplay, and added a shorthanded goal as well. They did this, however, on a weak goaltending tandem. That will not be the case tonight, as the Habs and likely Vezina finalist Carey Price will be in town. The Habs don’t play well away from home, and don’t score much either. Yet they inexplicably win games, and lots of them. The Rangers need this win, and another two points. They won’t catch the Habs, but they will put more distance between themselves and ninth place.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Christensen gets a hat trick.
