Scratched tonight: Derek Boogaard (concussion symptoms), Alex Frolov (knee), Chris Drury (knee), Martin Biron (collarbone), Wojtek Wolski (healthy), and Matt Gilroy (healthy).

STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: The Rangers got two much needed points in San Jose after a clunker in Anaheim. Tonight is one of the few games the Rangers have left that isn’t against a playoff-bound team, so two points is another must. The good thing for the Rangers is that they need only worry about getting two points, and not about getting them in regulation. Sean Avery is back in the lineup tonight after his one game benching, and will be taking Wojtek Wolski’s spot in the lineup. It seems to be a rotation of one game benchings for the underachieving forwards. After last year’s benching, Avery came back with six points in seven games. Let’s hope this benching has the same affect. Also, Steve Eminger makes his return to the lineup, replacing Matt Gilroy.

CRAZY THOUGHT: The Rangers light up Montoya.
