Scratched tonight: Derek Boogaard (concussion symptoms), Erik Christensen Chris Drury (knee), Alex Frolov (knee), Ruslan Fedotenko (shoulder/appendix), and Steve Eminger (healthy).

STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: Well, this is the first full blown losing streak the Rangers have had this season, having lost four in a row. It doesn’t get any easier, as Detroit is one of the best teams in the West right now. They haven’t been scoring much (shutout their past two games), but that shouldn’t be an issue with Pavel Datsyuk back in the lineup. This is going to be a tough test for the slumping Rangers. The fan base is already panicking, and another loss could result in a “trade Lundqvist” chant (sarcasm). Seriously, the Rangers need to right the ship, and fast, if they want to stay in the East playoff race.

CRAZY THOUGHT: Biron gets the shutout.
