Last night was the first ever NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft, which was a pretty cool concept for this year’s All Star Game. Eric Staal, the captain of Team Staal (creative name), kept the Rangers All Stars together when he drafted Henrik Lundqvist and Marc Staal in the 6th and 7th rounds respectively. In drafting his brother Marc (wait, they are brothers?), Staal has avoided one headline while creating another. Throughout the entire broadcast on Sunday, I’m sure we will be hearing that Eric and Marc are brothers, and they have never played on the same team. It’s like we’ve never heard it before.

Phil Kessel was the last pick in the draft (unsurprising). For being the last pick, he was allowed to donate $20,000 to a charity of his choosing, and he won a brand new Honda. Good for him for being Mr. Irrelevant. Now watch him go win the MVP and win another car.
