OPPONENT: Ottawa Senators

2009-2010 RECORD: 44-32-6

2009-2010 LEADING SCORER: Daniel Alfredsson (20-51-71)

GOALIE: Brian Elliott, 2.57 GAA and a .910 save percentage

RANGERS LINES:
Marian Gaborik-Vinny Prospal-Alex Frolov
Sean Avery-Derek Stepan-Ruslan Fedotenko
Brandon Dubinsky-Artem Anisimov-Ryan Callahan
Derek Boogaard-Brian Boyle-Brandon Prust

The Rangers defense pairings at the last practice are below, but because practice was canceled this morning, there has been no word on which six are playing. The only definite is that Michal Rozsival (knee) won’t be playing.

Steve Eminger-Michael Del Zotto
Marc Staal-Dan Girardi
Pavel Valentenko-Mike Sauer
Ryan McDonagh-Matt Gilroy.

Update: Valentenko and Sauer will sit tonight, and play in the preseason finale tomorrow night. Erik Christensen will replace Prospal (knee) on the top line.

Henrik Lundqvist will play the entire game.

STATE OF THE BLUESHIRTS: The Rangers had a very impressive victory over the Red Wings on Wednesday, moving to 3-1-0 in the preseason. The best part about the preseason is that the battles for the final roster spots are going right down to the wire. Derek Stepan and Ruslan Fedotenko are making the forward decision almost impossible to make, while Mike Sauer, Pavel Valentenko, and Ryan McDonagh are making the defense decision just as difficult. Vinny Prospal

CRAZY THOUGHT: Prust scores a goal, and Boogaard gets an assist on that goal.

FINAL PREDICTION: Rangers 4, Senators 2

The game is at 7pm tonight.
