King HenrikAs eluded to earlier, Henrik Lundqvist has simply stolen the show for this series. There are very few adjectives that can be used to describe his play so far: unreal, god-like, and standing on his head. In short, he is the MVP of the series, and probably of the entire first round. Let’s put things in perspective here:

Games: 4
Shots faced: 149
Goals allowed: 8
Saves: 141
GAA: 2.00
Save %: .946
SO: 1

That’s absurd. Hank has stopped 95% of the shots faced from the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Alex Semin, Mike Green, and Nik Backstrom, and even shut them out once. This also doesn’t take into account the fact that Ovechkin has 35 shots, with just 1 goal.

The Caps are absolutely dominating the Rangers in every aspect of the game. They lead in shots, puck possession in the offensive zone, quality chances, PP%, and posts hit. The only thing that they don’t have the edge in is goaltending.

There’s only one way to put this: If the Rangers had any other goalie in the league on their team, and not Hank, the Caps would have swept this series.
