The Rangers played very well last night, and lit up poor Patrick Lalime. That was one of the best games I’ve seen them play this year. They attacked, instead of waiting for the game to come to them. This team is clicking at just the right time.

Random note, did you know Ryan Callahan has 19 goals? It’s one of those things that you know, but it doesn’t really catch your eye until you sit down and think about it. He also leads the team in hits. He is having a great year.

With the win last night, and Florida/Montreal losses, the Rangers have a nice 4 point cushion on the Panthers for 9th, and 3 points on the Habs for 8th. Carolina won last night, so the Rangers will stay in 7th place for now, 1 point behind the Hurricanes, but with two games in hand.

The Rangers are taking on the always dangerous Sens tonight, who are red hot, winners of 8 of their last 9. They will have to shut down the big three, and will need a superb performance by Hank to walk away with the win, and at least 6th place.

You have to assume it’s the same lineup tonight. It’s working, and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a 7pm start on MSG tonight.

Pittsburgh is also hosting Philly on NBC right now. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a 3 point game.
