Our Blueshirts won two of the first three of the remaining 15 games. They need another 7 wins in the remaining 12 to secure a spot in the playoffs with 94 points. Today is another crucial, four point swing game against Montreal, that could vault the Rangers from 7th to 5th in the East.

Montreal has been struggling as of late, going 2-3-1 in March. This said, the Rangers always seem to struggle against them. Les Canadiens are much faster than the Rangers, and play a very up tempo game that the Rangers just couldn’t adjust to in the Tom Renney era. Torts’ system is more like Les Canadiens, but we will have to wait and see if our beloved Blueshirts can actually keep up with them in a 60 minute game. Playing like they did the last two games against Philly is a good place to start though, as they would have come out with at least 3 points, if not for Marty Biron and his outstanding performance on Saturday.

Something else I would love to see: Colton Orr saying no to Georges Laraque’s silly attempts to fight him. Three more PPGs wouldn’t hurt either…

As for the lineups, Andrew Gross is reporting the same lineup, with Hank in net. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

It’s a 7:30 start tonight on MSG. No live blog from me tonight, I have dinner plans that will take me into the first period.
