Did you ever notice how the Rangers always look terrible in their losses? That they always appear to be physically at the game, but mentally elsewhere? That they just don’t appear to be giving 100% like they do when they win?

I, along with pretty much everyone else, have noticed this trend. When the Rangers win, they look anywhere from really good to really lucky. When they lose though, it’s pretty much a ‘yes’ to the questions above.

But let’s look at it this way: Yesterday’s game was sloppy, there’s no doubt about it. But the Rangers were 3-1-1 on this 5 game road trip, taking 7 of 10 points, and beating a very impressive Chicago team when every call seemed to go against them. Maybe they were just tired from killing off 5 5-on-3s and 20 minutes worth of minor penalties. Tomorrow’s game against Anaheim will be a test to see if they can bounce back from the listless effort. It’s the last game before the All-Star break, and you can bet they will want to hit the break with a win.

This team is still in first place (although that even GF/GA split has all of us worried). So have a little faith, hopefully it can all come together consistently for the last half of the season and the playoffs.

On second thought, maybe that’s a little too much to ask. Let’s hope it can all come together for the playoffs.
