Game 45: Rick Nash appreciation

The Rangers are in Columbus tonight as #TheVision continues. It took a detour with a satisfying win over the Islanders yesterday, but the Blue Jackets are significantly better and, with a few improvements, could content with the Bolts and Leafs.

Rick Nash, who announced his retirement on Friday, will be on hand to drop the puck. Nash, for all intents and purposes, played with the Jackets and Rangers for his entire career. That brief stop in Boston doesn’t really count to me. Nash was booed a lot in Columbus following his trade, but my guess is he will get a standing ovation and a video tribute.

It is my expectation the Rangers follow suit at some point this season or next.

    Thank you Rick.

Your penalty kill and defensive game was really, really underappreciated. Not by me.

Good call IMO. But honestly are the Rangers the only team in the league whose goalies “keep them in the game” even when on pace for a 6GAA night? Jeez. Georg is going to need the next “mental break.”

Classy of Columbus to honor Rick, especially with the Rangers in town. Nicely done.

If ever there was a player who you can hold up as an example of how a professional athlete should conduct himself, Rick Nash is one of the best. Never whined, never bitched, never dogged it on the ice, just went out and played his best. I’m sorry to see him go, but I know it’s really his only option. I wish him and his family nothing but the best.

Georg is going to have 2 games out of his last 3 giving up 5 or more and he’s playing well. Ridiculous how many chances they give up right in front.

That’s what happens when the forwards are lazy. The face offs are killing us. Can someone get Messier onboard when they have the all star break and teach these guys how to win a draw.

And just think people feel face offs are not important

They got burned on every weak lazy play they made.

The Rangers had a coach that had them playing good defence. He’s behind the Blue Jackets bench now winning hockey games, while the Rangers are in suckville.
