Game 36: Another divisional battle

DIsclaimer: The lineups and some of the information in the game threads through the end of the year may be out of date. I’m on vacation and scheduled these well in advance. So while you guys are dealing with snow and stuff, I’m on a beach.

The Rangers are back from the holiday break tonight against the Blue Jackets. The Jackets are likely in a need-to-go-for-it situation this year, as both Sergei Bobrovsky and Artemi Panarin are likely gone at the end of the season. That makes this version of the Blue Jackets dangerous. It also helps that they are a pretty good team.

The Blue Jackets are a pretty deep team, and coach John Tortorella has adjusted his style to account for the new game and the lineup. They are a good team that will grind you to a pulp if you let them. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t skilled enough to play a run-and-gun game, either.

Nice to see Delangelo back in the lineup. The Blueline missed his ability to skate the puck out of danger. When the Rangers are bottled up in their own zone they have been forcing passes that aren’t there. This has resulted in many turnovers. Hockey is a skating game move your feet!

Tony is scratched again. We got to watch McQuaid in slow motion instead.

The boys are going to have their hands full this evening. I watched the Blue Jackets last week and Torts has them humming along pretty well….

Yes Savard is notorious for his sneaky high danger shots.

Yeah. He was fine the rest of the way. What a lousy break on the tying goal. Lousy drop. Lousy own goal. Lousy.

Either the ice is bad or we just really like turning the puck ove! 😎 Hayes with 3 nice assists!

Tough break as Stromer was offside by a skate lace, he did show that he does have nice pucks skills . I would like to see him pivot Andersson and Fast when Jesper returns . I believe it would be a solid 4th line. The Rangers continue to force feed passes that ain’t there. Turnovers in the neutral zone will kill momentum every time.

I like ADA wheels and right now the Rangers are skating like they are in quicksand. Come on Quinner put the kid in.
