Rangers send Vinni Lettieri, Matt Beleskey, Alex Georgiev to Hartford

The Rangers have sent forwards Vinni Lettieri and Matt Beleskey, and goaltender Alex Georgiev to Hartford. The Pack have a game Saturday, while the Rangers do not play until Saturday. Given the time gap between games, I’m assuming both Mats Zuccarello and Vlad Namestnikov will be ready by Saturday. Georgiev will be back by that game. Dustin Tokarski has been recalled in the interim.

Larry Brooks noted that the Rangers have been saving cap dollars and cents for quite some time now. This makes sense, as the Rangers are in a position to take on salary from teams needing to dump bad contracts to make a run. Not sure if anything is imminent, but Brooks made it seem like the Rangers are gearing up for something.

"Rangers send Vinni Lettieri, Matt Beleskey, Alex Georgiev to Hartford", 5 out of 5 based on 1 ratings.

Brooks knows nothing. Cap space is always good to have. Nylander gone so no deal there. Fingers crossed for Panarin at end of year. Teams like LA might dump but who do we need from them.

The Rangers are going to need some star power if they want to build a contender. You need at least one stud defenseman too tho. Seems past cup winners all have that in common.

Fine, then give him credit for Georgiev … tit for tat.

Yes, why should we judge him solely by that game?

After all is said and done, we probably get between the 8th and 14th pick of the draft. Let’s hope we have a real clue who to take.
