The Rangers are back home tonight, trying to end their streak of pretty putrid play. It will be a tall order against the Winnipeg Jets, who are most likely playoff bound and one of the favorites to come out of the West. This might be another rough one.

The main focus of tonight will be on Vic Hadfield. An honor that should have been bestowed upon Hadfield long ago, the final member of the GAG line will have his #11 retired tonight. Hadfield spent 13 seasons with the Rangers (839 games), putting up a career line of 262-310-572. He, along with Rod Gilbert and Jean Ratelle were a force to be reckoned with, and now all three will finally be reunited in the rafters.

This is an honor that is long overdue. Both Hadfield and Ratelle should have had their numbers retired when Gilbert had his number retired. You can throw Harry Howell into this argument as well. The Rangers were not good at honoring their players until after the 1994 core retired. Better late than never.
