After Thursday night’s strong effort in the home opener loss to Nashville, the Rangers are up Buffalo to take on the always bad Sabres. Buffalo should be better, but they aren’t. It’s weird. Also the Rangers are predicted to be a bottom feeder, but they do have solid forward depth and goaltending. That’s why they play the games.
As for the lineup, Cody McLeod comes in for Vlad Namestnikov. David Quinn said this was more about McLeod than Namestnikov, which I will take him at his word for. It’s Game 2. This is normal – coaches will play everyone on the roster and eventually settle into who he prefers to have as his 12/6 lineup. For the next month or so, expect things like this.
