Dom Luszczyszyn of The Athletic released his preview (sub req’d) of the Rangers this season, and to no one’s surprise, he has the Rangers projected to finish 7th or 8th in the Metro Division. This isn’t unexpected, as the Rangers are in the middle of a rebuild.
Dom does note that the Rangers could surprise some folks, since there are some unknowns around this team that can’t be quantified just yet. However he does note that the Rangers are unlikely to finish dead last for Jack Hughes, but also won’t be good enough to make the playoffs.
It should be noted that Dom doesn’t blow smoke either. He correctly predicted the Rangers would be out of it last year, and he hit the nail on the head there. If you are subscribed, it’s worth the read.
