The Rangers appear to have interest in 26 year old winger Sergei Shumakov, currently in the KHL with CSKA.
#KHL, #NHL: The New York Rangers are reportedly interested in signing F Sergei Shumakov, if he can get out of his contract with CSKA Moscow. Shumakov is currently holding out from CSKA, and is not attending their training camp. (1/2) https://t.co/xiVMF17txe

The 26-year-old winger put up 17-23-40 in 47 games last season, which likely translates well to the NHL (NHLe has him at a shade over 50 points). The fact that he’s a righty is an added bonus. Alex Nunn has more details on Shumakov.
Shumakov is a low-risk bet for a team that could use some secondary scoring. At just 26 years old, there’s still good prime seasons remaining as well. There’s a bunch of unknowns here though.
