hydrochlorothiazide vs aldactone 100mg The rumors have been floating around for a little while now, but Darren Dreger has put it in writing that the Rangers may be involved as a middle man in a potential Tampa/Ottawa deal for Erik Karlsson. The Lightning need someone to take salary, and the Rangers are flush with cap space.

source For the Blueshirts, they should be doing everything in their power to help the Bolts win a Cup, which would ensure they have another first round pick next year as part of the Ryan McDonagh trade. It’s nice to see the Rangers flexing their cap muscle as well.

Cirelli is a very good prospect, got some time with TB last year and looked pretty good from what I was reading.

Mixed signals on Cal Foote. Some love him, some don’t.

With TB, you figure the first rounder is almost a 2nd rounder. I would rather have a prospect mentioned, or even Stralman.

There were three 100 point players in the NHL last season. None of their teams won the Stanley Cup. Also, none of them are going to be traded without an absolute boatload return – if they are even available, which is unlikely. These guys don’t grow on trees, so perhaps setting the bar a little lower would be more practical.

I just read this at Pro Hockey Rumors.

And let me tell you Kucherov is a grade A game changer. I would take him in a heartbeat but there is no way Tampa is giving away a 40 goal/100 point guy. Point is also out for sure.

But – lets remember if the NYR are the ones that are going to make this thing work then they should be highly compensated and Tampa is just stacked front to back with talent.

Koekkoek (Koo-Koo) was a #10 overall pick is only 24. He is a legit NHL D-man but kind of regressed a bit last year. He just signed for $865K and would be a nice addition to a package as a sweetener.

Both Killorn and Ty Johnson (NTC as of 7/1) show intermittent flashes of brilliance but I would stay away from both and hold out for better talent.

The guy I would want off the NHL roster is Yanni Gourde. He is a Cally type hustler and hitter and goes to the net big-time.

And of course they have prospects – Foote, plus I saw a bit of Cirelli and Erne last year and both look like they are keepers. And of course there is Sergachev

Booby Ryan contract scares me and Cally would be OK but I would be flipping him to Buffalo in some shape or form.

This is very interesting. And will all of the deals with the NYR and Bolts it is about time we came out on top of one of them.

Sergachev, Gourde, or Foote is my wishlist but they also have to give Ottawa a package as well…

            Ray –

Gourde had 25 goals/64 points and led Tampa with a +34. Finished sixth for the Calder Rookie of the Year trophy.

Perhaps you are thinking of someone else??

Holy moronic statement, Ray, Boo Nieves is at best one quarter of the player that Yannick Gourde is. Or do you really denigrate 64 pts at the NHL level?

Getting Callahan back at $5.8 mil for two years in that three team deal has to come with a first round pick from both teams. That’s a heavy contract to absorb. My hope is that Tampa kills it in the trade and wins the Cup this coming year so the Rangers get upgraded to a first from the Mac trade from last season. That plus two more first rounders and our own would be like this year’s draft all over again …that would be very good for the rebuild. Nothing less will do.

But cally contract for the next 2 years is inconsequential. The Rangers aren’t competing in the next 2 years. If they are going to have extra cap space why not utilize it to add other types of assets? If it takes adding Cally to a deal that gets you Kucherov what is the harm of having Callys contract on the books for 2 years?

The Rangers are in a good spot here. For a change THEY have cap space to use up.

They don’t have to do anything but sit there and let TB up the ante to make it worth while for the Rangers to take back a bad contract, if TB really wants Karlsson.

Exactly Richter – If it is the NYR cap space that is going to make this deal happen then the NYR are in the driver’s seat and they need to be highly compensated for their troubles.

Stevie Y is good at this game but this time we need to get it right.

I love Cally as a player and he would be a great leader for these young kids but we don’t NEED him. To take him of their hands we need to get something of consequence back.

Let’s not forget that they still need to put together a package for Ottawa to land him.

Does Cally have a NTC/NMC? If so that would limit TB ability to unload him and highly likely he would say yes to NYR.

That plus our cap space really should give us some nice leverage.

If it’s a here way I fear we would be taking in the Ryan contract and get some assets from both Ottawa and TB.

Every time I hear it is Tampa we are dealing with my heart skips a beat. Yzerman’s history of fleecing the Rangers is legendary, watch him ship Callahan & Girardi back here and convince Gorton they still have plenty left in the tank!!!

Carpinello saying Tampa doesn’t need to unload any salary to make the deal happen *right now* and don’t until after the extend him.

This is true, but they can only extend him his current salary, plus Adam Erne’s expiring contract($894k)

I’m pretty sure Karlsson is not signing that extension.

    • Jul 6, 2018 at 1:11 am
      Permalink

      Actually I’m all wet.

They can extend him for all sorts of money as they have a ton of cap space opening up at the end of 18-19.

What they can’t do is get him on to the roster for the start of the season unless they unload another $3.05mm. So Girardi alone doesn’t do it unless the Rangers retain some of Karlsson’s contract as a pass through.

    • Jul 6, 2018 at 1:31 am
      Permalink

Tampa will have $20mm freed up at the end of 2018-19 to extend Karlsson, Gourde, Paquetre, Point, Kucherov and find another 2-3 D.

Say Karlsson gets $11mm, that leaves $9mm for the rest of the boys.

The D on ELCs gets it to $7.5mm

$7.5mm into 4 forwards ain’t gonna happen as to qualify Kucherov leaves them with $2.73mm.

Somebody has to move going forward if they want to keep their core together and the obvious choice is Callahan. Then you’re looking at $8.53mm to take care of the boys remaining.

Even then, you would probably see one of Point, Gourde & Paquette move on as well because Kucherov’s arbitration result will be well above the $4.77mm.

Point’s not going anywhere unless it is to Ottawa to land EK, but even that is highly doubtful.

Stevie low-balled Kuch the last time and then Kuch went out and put up some monster numbers. That is not going to happen this time. Kuch himself will eat up most of that $9M.

Paquette is expendable, Gourde is coming of a rookie season and his trajectory is rising – fast. Erne is not yet signed but he played well in limited minutes this past season.

Palat, Killorn, and Johnson are all signed at ~$5M through 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024 respectively and I would expect one of them to go back to Ottawa. Johnson has a NTC that kicked in at 7/1 though.

        And then there is Sergachev.
