Game 43: Out of the bye, into the fire

micardis anlo 40 5mg bula rangers islanders isles

tegretol 200mg obat apa The Rangers are out of the bye week and entering the fire, with two tough divisional games coming up. Today the Rangers take on the Islanders, who are a solid offensive team that struggles on defense. They are tied for third in goals scored in the division, so they are not to be taken lightly. The good thing is that they hemorrhage goals, which is why they aren’t higher in the standings.

roxithromycin tablets 150 mg uses Kevin Hayes is a question mark, and he’s 50/50 for the game. Paul Carey, despite his solid play early on, is the scratch. That’s not a slight on Carey, but the Rangers need to see what Lettieri is while keeping Buch in the lineup. If Hayes can’t go, then the lines below will be juggled a bit. If he can, then the lines below are what we should expect.

how much does pamelor cost On the forecheck, they appear to rotate between a 2-1-2 and a 1-2-2, but use both aggressively. In the defensive zone, it looked like an aggressive zone, likely a hybrid strong side overload/zone. On the penalty kill, it looks like a wedge+1. The powerplay is mostly overload, but they work in a 1-3-1 every now and then.

Frustration galore! Everything said on this blog is a summation of whats been going on for the past few seasons. IT IS TIME. Need a new voice and mindset. Yesterday was a perfect example of the AV concept that does not work. WE had a week off and we play an arch rival. Its a shame when the fans are more excited to mix it up than the guys on our team. So if I’m preparing my team for this important game I’m looking to bang on #91 and the rookie Barzal. They get touched all the time. Now you know the Icelanders will respond. It will be difficult for the Isles to pick our most lethal guy cause I don’t know who that is. Anyway, when they respond we must stand up. Therefore I guy Like DD has no place in this game. Carey is a willing guy and so is Smith. Yet both are scratched.
Stahl who is showing signs of being tired should be the D scratch because he is never going to get involved in this game and he could rest for the Pitt game. That would be a game plan. Not the flowery we need to play fast and get quality chances not to mention how to lift the puck when the goalie is down. Anyway soon as I saw the lineup and line combos I knew we would not be ready. Once again this is on the great AV. We were not prepared . His style and concept never varies and someone needs to do something drastic and change the culture. It wont be AV.
      My combos;
      Zib Nash Buch
      Hayes Vesey Grabs
JT (a much better choice than DD ) Zuc Litt
Boo Carey Fast ( fast is no 2nd line player ) this line gets #91
      The D
Shatt sees less of 91 and Barzal.

      Zib Nash buch
      Hayes Vesey Grabs
Miller ( a much better choice than DD ) Zuc Litt
Boo Carey Fast. Fast is no 2nd line guy and this line should get #91

The D’s ; six of one half doz of the other.

I don’t usually call for a coach’s head, but this is how your team comes out to play after a week long break? UNACCEPTABLE!

How long must we listen to the excuse that they need to play a 60 minute game? It’s been 60 minutes since they came into the league in 1926. What is the mystery?

This team is either gutless or apathetic. They need guys who actually love playing this sport, besides Lundqvist.

I had the same exact thought, Irishbayou…….a week to prepare and this is how the team comes out?? The first 5 minutes of every period we come out flat! 100% on the coach!!!!!
This team has a good amount of talent, speed , skill ….what it lacks is direction, focus, purpose, energy, confidence, drive , a little snarl and especially a game plan.
Looks like the Islander team before they made their coaching change….the Briuns before they made their coaching change…………Rangers way overdue to make our coaching change!!!!!!!
How many odd-man rushes will the Islander have before the coach makes some adjustment??????? Islanders and devils were picked to MISS the playoffs we were picked by most to make it. Another underachieving AV team!!!!!!!!!!

This is fine. Plays into the plan. If they will just play like their true, decent but overly good or great selves for a few more weeks we can hope Gorton is the autonomous GM and will sell.

The seemingly goofy moves he’s made (trading Step, not replacing @ C) seem like that was his plan all along. Move Grabs, Nash and Holden for young assets, sign Nash back @ reduced rate, insert one or both young centers, bring Shesyorkin to tutor under Lundquist and hope one of the assets for our deadline sales is a solid young(er) D.

Most important, give AV his walking papers in the offseason and find a coach along the lines of the Bruins’ Cassidy. Lots of bright younger guys being groomed out there.

AV should be fired in between periods!! It’s an absolute disgrace… As I always say unprepared, lazy etc, Best player on the ice for the Rangers is Letteiri. Staal pinches Islanders score, Staal will never be benched, Smith sneezes the wrong way and he’s benched for games at a time. When will Dolan give the directive to Gorton to do what needs to be done, fire the whole coaching staff and bring up the kids,at least if they make the mistakes I can live with it.

Alright I admit it now. AV really has to go. He has lost the team. You guys were right all along. This was about as pathetic a compete level I have ever seen all season and there have been some bad ones. Hank is talking to Ruff to get his defenders to play. LMAO…game over fellas. When your goalie tells the D coach the D needs to step it up …it is time to pack your shit and get ready for a vacation from the NHL.

Sad part is Ruff will take over the team and nothing will change cause Hank will make them look better then they are.

If Gorton can get anything for anyone I will be impressed.

WE DONT NEED A POP SINGER FOR OUR NUMBER 1 CENTER. With his bleach blonde dyed hair and perfect face. He just isnt a hockey player. Please send him packing. There is no grit to this individual at all.

Nash hit a pad again for the 500 time this season when in close. 7.8 MILLION to never lift a puck in close. Come on Nash we all know you could lift the puck. Show some snarl at least and keep slamming it till it goes in.

Grabner had 5 breakaways and not one goal to show for it. Why is it the opposing team’s goalie always plays good against the Rangers? Maybe just maybe the guys who get the chances to score on this team just really suck at scoring.

What a home town discount we got huh? Shat myself was a solid -4 with Skeji. Getting physically out muscled to his own net. He needs to be benched. If anyone needs to sit on D it is Shattenkirk. All season long he has been getting owned in the corners…in front of his own net …and getting caught pinching up.

At this point …….play the rookies at least you know they will compete. Or Fire this coach and get it over with. But do something. I really pray they get wiped in Pitts tomorrow also. It will force Gorts to do something. I am talking about a 10 to 1 drubbing….I want the touchdown, PAT, and the field goal! No half way here boys you going to flop on a coach make sure you do it right.

I was there my friends. Wow.

Even though the Rangers had a lot of SOG, they looked like they were skating in sh-t. Slow as sh-t. No energy, no fire, no fight, no pride.

Henrik, imploring his teammates to give effort is sad.
Henrik, yelling at Ruff while still on the ice is sad.
McD, stating that teammates are not giving effort or are not on board with the rest of the team is sad.

Like I have said many times, but some of you just do not listen, the coach has lost the players and he did a long time ago. Today’s game it came to a head with public outbursts of frustration both on the ice during the game and afterwards in the interviews.

NEWS FLASH: The Rangers have played this way for months, the only difference is the goalie didn’t save them this time.

NEWS FLASH: ONE REGULATION WIN IN THE LAST 10 GAMES. One other was the OT win in the WC and the other was a shootout win. It has been said many times, once the calendar turns to January, teams start picking it up and play more defensively. If you look back, the Rangers’ goals dry up around this time of the year going into the playoffs.

It’s happening again. I said to my friend before the game that if they scored less than 3 goals today then something is seriously wrong. The Isles giving up 4-5 goals lately and we get 2, one of those goals after the game was basically over.

The coach. Start Pav today? Why? 5 days off and at Pens tomorrow night where Henrik has not been great at times. Why not start Henrik today and Pav tomorrow night? Pav was not at fault today so let’s make that clear. And then, with the game out of reach, he puts Henrik in, risking injury for nothing. What an idiot.

Blow it up. Everyone except Henrik who is not going anywhere as he is the heart and soul of the team. Trade everyone over 27 years of age or buy them out during the offseason if they can’t be traded. Fire all the coaches and bring in a young, creative coach, that can teach the young players.

Today, in front of kids on “Kids Day” no less, was a complete embarrassment. Not only in score but in a total lack of effort. No puck battles won. No fire to try and get back into the game. Nothing. Blow it up and let the kids play.

Problem is they won’t make a fire sale … I say everyone goes and bring in the yutes . How doesn’t he hold Shattenkirk and Staal accountable ever ? Smith has pretty much sat the whole season. They completely sucked which in turn made Skjei look worse then he actually played. He could have been better for sure. Pav didn’t stand a chance on any of the plays and then a few more bounces against Hank. Just a total lack of effort ( except the goalies) from the entire team.

I cannot believe that all the players are bad. The coach has to go, they are not playing for him and they haven’t for a long time.

The player you hate is the only player that helps them win games. The team’s overall game has sucked for a couple of years now but only the goalie allows them to win games. It’s been like this a long time now.

“How doesn’t he hold Shattenkirk and Staal accountable ever ? Smith has pretty much sat the whole season. They completely sucked which in turn made Skjei look worse then he actually played.”

Ah another that applies Shattenkirks Law; if Kevin Shattenkirk is on the ice any goal against is automatically his fault cause #narrative states he’s “bad in his own end”

Goal 1- Kevin Shattenkirk and Brady Skjei both have their players covered when the 3rd man in, one JT Miller, decides to go to an already covered man. Why was he the goal scorer uncovered? Because Miller covered an already covered man and Zib didn’t either. Shattenkirk properly covered his man. But see above re: Shattenkirks Law.

Goal 2- With Shattenkirk already pinched and in the corner on an offensive zone play, Brady Skjei decides to come down and take a shot that springs the opponent. Kevin Shattenkirk is the ONLY Ranger on his horse getting back to the offensive zone 200’ away and almost makes it. Where were the forwards that should have been covering The point? Where was the rest of the team even ATTEMPTING to get back to the zone? Oh I’m sorry, I forgot; Shattenkirks Law.

Goal 3- Shattenkirk has his man covered. Brady Skjei is behind the goal scorer coasting and making zero attempt to tie up how mans stick. Duh, you’d think I’d learn Shattenkirks Law by now.

Goal 4- Wide side winger makes a pass across the zone from Shattenkirks side of the ice to the other. No Ranger forward has the winger covered or is in the same zip code as the goal scorer, nor Skjei does anything. Yes yes. I know. It’s Shattenkirks fault.

Yeah, Shatty was a -4 but he actually defended the right way as it related to him personally on each play.

He makes bonehead plays sometimes, no question, but he also gets victimized a lot too. That’s why +/- is such a bad stat.

1st Goal…It is not hard to cover a man when it is 4 on 3 entering a zone. And as AV said in the presser…How hard is it to check the man. Shattenkirk tied up the stick but that was about all. He let the forward walk right in to the front of the net and didn’t stand him up at all. How about a physical prensence there on that net front. Instead of backing up til it is too late.

          2nd Goal …
That was all his fault…his man was hanging out at our blue line. Not only does he not try to make it back he doesn’t even try to hit him. He was the high man on that play. That guy has to be punished for that. Plain an simple hit him …even if you take a penalty …HIT HIM…MAKE IT HARD FOR HIM. In that situation chopping the stick out of his hand is a penalty I will understand. Cross checking him from behind is a penalty every coach will understand. DO SOMETHING …dont watch the game …be apart of it.

          4th Goal…
This is all skjei not much else to say other then Skjei got beat off the rush. I mean Shattenkirk could have maybe attempted to close the gap as the man got further into our D zone instead of leaving the man with a 5 foot gap to make a nice pass. But this one is on skjei. Totally. Shatttenkirk didn’t factor in that goal at all.

          7th Goal…
I mean come on …this is never ending repeating cycle of watch barzal rush in to our net unmolested. Someone throw a check. Not that Barzal scored but watched the highlights. Hank was so worried about the back door pass he didn’t even make an attempt on the shooter.

Now for his offense. LOL THAT Backhander on the 5-3 to no where even got called out by our announcer. Mcletti is so drunk most games he cant even get players on his own team’s names right but he noticed just how horrible that was. I expect a rookie to make a pass or shot like that on a 5-3 not a offensive d.

Come on you have to admit that was a horrible effort all around by this weak ..stick checking only …mister softie selling shell of a player. When your own ex coach calls you out before a game and says you are bad and then you go and put up a -3 and are a non factor in that game…Time to admit you suck and work hard on the defensive end of your game.

I know already your defense for him…it is AV’s system. He did well in ST. Louis. You know what …you might be right. Maybe AV’s pairings are weak. Maybe he should play with Mac. Skjei might not be the partner for him. But as a vet of 10 professional seasons making 6 million a year…this guy needs to know when to be physical and when not to. And not once this season have i seen him be physical. Not once has he stepped up when some no name rookie just destroys him and his defense partner. You are getting embarrassed. Show some damn heart and hit someone. Throw a punch and mean cross check. Do something to show you want it.

Already knew from your first post in this thread you were out to lunch. So it’s not worth an in-depth reply. I’ll sum it up.

            1. It wasn’t Shattenkirks cover who scored the goal.
            2. Once again, Shattenkirk pinched deep into the offensive zone on a DESIGNED play and still made it all the way back.

Your last two with the constant “punch” “hit” etc are just not worth it. Ironic that you implore everyone to watch this and watch that, but ignore based on your own bias.

1.No way ..I didn’t realize it was not his cover who scored. Wasn’t my point. Did you ever play real hockey or just watch your kid or friends? Standing up as a defencemen puts a goalie at ease cause he can focus on the shooter and not the back door pass.

              2. Designed play to have both D pinch? REALLY? Hockey IQ might be not a strong point of yours but AV certainly doesn’t design a play with both D pinching in. There is always a High man on D. And Skjei was in cause he took that shot which hit Letteri.

Look I get it …you’re a fan boy…it happens ..I was a fan boy of AV…he consistently fields competitive teams in the NHL. But my biased aside, I know a bad player when I see one. That 5 on 3 backhander he took was epic for a offensive defenceman! EPIC! He is a -12 on the season with the 5th most points on this team. He is garbage. Give me Giardi any day over this clown in AV’s system. Giardi might have been slow and got beat a ton on the rush but at least he didn’t let players walk in unmolested. Damn sure he would have hacked Barzal’s arms off during that game.

You inability to formulate a sentence at the end with a coherent point says worlds about your intelligence level. I don’t care about Grammer or spellin either. Just type something worth while or just put the phone back to Facebook. You brain dead fool! 7 am and that was the most intelligent point you could muster????? Hope you were out drinking all night and just got in.

Rather then blowing up the team, I think the Ranger management should take a page from the Boston Bruins and St Louis Blues. Both teams replaced their coach and weeded out some of the deadwood from their roster.

The trade deadline is an opportunity for New York to pull out the weeds and keep the flowers. Let’s face it. This year’s team isn’t as strong as last years.
And last year they couldn’t even beat Ottawa in the playoffs. Please no more win now trades for washed up over the hill vets.

Bloomer, THAT’s what I would love. But would they do that?

I said the last few weeks that I would like to see this team with a different coach and get the vet stiffs off the team for the younger players.

I think that is what you’re saying too. I agree with this.

Where are you to defend AV? I don’t see any white horses, with a rider, and cell phone to come to the rescue…………..no novels today telling us the history of AV, and that great track record. Maybe Richter is right, he may have lost the locker room, but he can chew his gum OK………..

      Richter

I hear your frustration, have experienced the same for at least two and 1/2 seasons, when will JG pay this guy off and send him packing????? If he threatens to expose those nasty photos of Sather, we can put on a contract on AV, Vito already volunteered to do it for free. LOL

Bro, I don’t know what to say any more. I was there, it was awful. Just awful effort and awful hockey.

The “boxscore fans” will say “but look at the SOG.” BS, it was terrible effort and you could see them “check out” after it was 3-1.

        It’s time to clean house.

A lifeless…no pride…no fight….no edge effort. This is not even a fun team to watch. They lay down as dogs; there is not a person on this team the opposition fears and with Kreider done…no one heavy with the puck and willing to go hard to the net. I am sick of Nash, Desharnais, Holden, AV and the rest. If they would just clean house and put young, hungry guys on the ice who will play hard, not back down from anyone and win sometimes…..that is way more interesting than this ___show.

I was at the game, and it was one of the worst efforts by the Rangers in a couple of years, completely inexcusable and unacceptable!. They were completely out hustled, out classed, had no passion, and nobody stood in front of the net on the power play as most of the game. They lack skill, toughness, and can;t complete a play. Two on ones mean nothing with them. They blow it almost every time. Are they going to continue like they have been playing the last few games or will they finally make some changes? I’m beginning to think Gordon is an even bigger jerk then AV. for doing nothing. Shake this dam team up already! They are pathetic to watch and are going absolutely nowhere. They play a good game (without depending on their goalies to bail them out) only once in a while, and fool you into thinking they are good and may be able to contend, but even when they win, they usually give up way to many shots on goal. Most likely, the next game, Hank will stand on his head, and they will somehow manage to beat Pittsburgh. That,s usually the only way they win. All the shots they get on goal, are usually not that high quality shots. It will be a long time before I waste any more of my money to go to the Garden for this!

O, I forgot to mention that the Islanders had 5 of their starters out of their lineup, including All Star Josh Bailey! The Kreider being out excuse, doesn’t hold up.

I knew this team had no guts when we played the Isles the 1st time. For the 1st time in my life I shut off a Rangers vs Islanders game….
I was astonished how lifeless they were….at least in the old days losing to the Isles they fought….hit…did something…to let the Isles know the next game was not going to be an easy one….they lost with pride

Read Jan Levine’s post, complete with interviews from Henrik and McD questioning their teammates’ effort.

AV is hysterical. He throws the top line under the bus vs. the Barzal line, but yet, HE kept putting them out there. I think the man is stupid.

On top of that, “what they have done for ME right now.” Get this piece of sh-t out of the organization. I am so tired of his “act” and this implosion is completely on him. It was coming for a while and it has now hit the fan, so to speak.

In a way, I hope they get lit up tonight and they might because the coach has ordered a “full AM practice” on the day of a game, lol.

I agree! The Bazal line owned the Zieb line yet AV didn’t adjust. And we had HOME ICE.
      Really inexcusable.

As I have been saying time and time again. This is a mediocre team going no place….

Once again, like a broken record:
      Trade
      Nash a UFA
      Grabner a UFA
      Zucc
      McD
(I don’t see anyone taking Holden, but there is always hope)
For a combination of picks in the upcoming deep draft, prospects and maybe a young player.

I will say, Hayes had a great game. Not only the goal, that was obvious, but he shut down Travaras. I am no AV fan, never was, never will be but you have to give him credit in his using Hayes against the oppositions top line.

I just don’t get the AV supporters continually giving AV and the player leadership group passes when the team has such an uninspired, lackluster effort as displayed yesterday. No passion, no grit, just role over and play dead.
Where’s Sean Avery when you need him???????????????

We watch games occasionally at work, and I made them change the channel at 4-1. I guess no one told them the break ended yesterday; I thought I was watching the Giants-Niners game from November. How does an NHL team put on an effort like that, at home, after a week off? Are you people serious? Shoot-out wins over two AHL teams last week, and now this? One thing fans can’t take is lack of effort, and that’s what we see right now.

Look I don’t have a lot of time this morning and I haven’t posted much this season due to a variety of personal factors, so now you guys can all hammer me for not seeing this two years ago, but I can’t take this team anymore. I don’t know if it’s the coach, I’m not in the locker room. This team is stealing money right now; again I’ll say, if I see Rick Nash hit the goalie in the pads one more time my TV is going through the window. Serious soul-searching today; there is still time to right the ship, but I just think the players are not that good. Assuming he has input on off-season acquisitions, AV should be let go if they don’t make the playoffs, but I’m not there yet.

Gotta go; just as an aside, could Tony Romo shut up for more than four seconds? Just every once in a while?

Boring, embarrassment. We owe a thanks to AV (and Jeff) for not playing Smith, or this team’s would really be a mess. This team become a cluster duck. Start at the GM (other then goaltending), and we need to relieve ourselves.
