Rangers loan Chytil to Czech Republic World Juniors Team

The Rangers have officially loaned Filip Chytil to the Czech Republic for the World Juniors. This was a foregone conclusion for a while, but this is the official announcement from the team. Chytil will likely be a big part of the Czech team.

Lias Andersson will also play in the tournament, likely serving as the captain for Sweden. It’s been a while since we’ve had two high profile players in the tournament. Should be a fun watch.

I think NHL network still broadcasts the WJC

Yes. All games are televised on the NHL Network. The first game of the tournament is Russia vs Czech Republic at noon on the day after Christmas. The second game is Sweden vs Belarus at 2:00 PM. The Czech game might be televised live (I haven’t seen the TV listings of NHL Network yet). Canada and the US play at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM respectively and Team USA and Team Canada games are always aired live.

Sweden and Czech Republic play on 12/28 at 4:00 PM. They are Group B while US and Canada are Group A which means USA can only play Sweden and Czech in the medal round.

Good experience for both young men. Maybe one uses the tourny as a springboard to help the big club.
