The Rangers finally got a pair of points against Nashville. It snapped a losing streak that has, for all intents and purposes, lasted most of the season. I had family plans for this one, and only caught some of the third period. So without further ado, let’s go through some of the Rangers’ takes on Twitter during the game.

I’m not against this. They need all the good ju-ju they can get.

This is critical right now. I’ve been harping on this for a week now, but the magic number is three. Stay within three points of a playoff spot. Seems backwards, but it’s very difficult to  make up points in the age of the loser point.

Accurate statement. Nothing else to add.

While this has nothing to do with hockey, someone needs to teach Ryan McDonagh the art of the snot rocket.

This is pretty cool. By all accounts Henrik Lundqvist really stole the game for the Rangers. Again, I didn’t watch the game, but the puck possession and scoring chance numbers didn’t favor them. While the process may not have been good, when you’re slumping you just need the wins for confidence. Get the wins, build the confidence, and the process should follow. Fragile states of mind matter right now.

This baffles me too. Sure, Pavel Buchnevich makes mistakes, but he’s not exactly a bad player. He has elite offensive tools and should be put in a position to use them.

I’m not in the man’s head, but I played the position. When your defense is unpredictable, you get frustrated. For the past three seasons and for the first month of this season, they’ve been unpredictable. I’d be frustrated. Don’t know if he is.

Calling out my own tweet here. Folks are going to have to deal with gaffes like this from Kevin Shattenkirk. He’s not elite defensively and he’s going to make system mistakes while chasing the puck. The positives far outweigh the negatives, though.

Woof. But again. Points matter now. Process (hopefully) follows the confidence.
