The Rangers lost to the Isles last night, making it 0-5-2 at home in the last seven games. This while blowing a third period lead as well. But it wasn’t all bad. The Rangers looked pretty good, just had some bad bounces. There are some gripes, sure. But honestly these games are meaningless at this point. I was at the game, so no goal breakdown. On to the tweets.

I’m leading with my own tweet because, what gives? Is it because it was an 8pm start? MSG was empty for a Rangers/Isles game.

Yes. Yes it is. And Rick Nash is one of two players to do it. Alex Ovechkin is the other.

Healthy reminder that Adam Clendening and Brady Skjei are a good defense pairing.
McDonagh played over 27 minutes. Can't stress enough how much I hate it in the last stretch of games.

Kampfer TOI tonight: 10:40
Clendening TOI last night: 16:04 https://t.co/AQxVsR8oTr— Zach Ellenthal (@zellenthal) March 23, 2017
These two go together. It’s always fun to burn out your best and most important defenseman/skater while playing a career AHLer over a guy that clearly clicks with Skjei. This is asinine at this point.
AV mentioned the lineup switch was opponent related. Referring to Glass and Kampfer playing

And just for completeness’ sake,
Glass TOI tonight: 6:50
Buchnevich TOI last night: 11:30— Zach Ellenthal (@zellenthal) March 23, 2017
So Tanner Glass/Pavel Buchnevich wasn’t an injury switch. It was matchup driven. I give up. That’s just silly. And I don’t want to hear any “keep players fresh” arguments. If that were true, then why did Ryan McDonagh play 27 minutes in a meaningless game?

Ok, I liked this hit. And the fight after.
Ho sang has literally been the only Islander worth watching tonight.

This is honestly true. He was flying out there.

I’m with Josh here. They played well and had a good effort. The process was there. The results are relatively meaningless at this point, and it’s process we should be focused on. However that doesn’t excuse poor lineup decisions by the coach. His process is still pretty atrocious right now.
