The Rangers have released the lines for tomorrow’s preseason game against the Devils:

Jimmy Vesey-Kevin Hayes-Rick Nash
Nathan Gerbe-Brandon Pirri-Pavel Buchnevich
Michael Grabner-Marek Hrivik-Jesper Fast
Adam Tambellini-Maxim Lapierre-Nicklas Jensen

Nick Holden-Kevin Klein
Ryan Graves-Chris Summers
John Gilmour-Dylan McIlrath

Antti Raanta
Mackenzie Skapski

This lineup follows the same formula from yesterday’s preseason game. The top line is a trio we could see in the regular season, while the fourth line is players that likely aren’t making the team (sorry Jensen).

The middle lines are intriguing, as they are comprised entirely of players competing for roles in the bottom-six of the Rangers lineup (save for Buchnevich, who is looking for a middle-six role). Competition breeds improvement, so watch those two lines closely. Pirri at center is also catching my eye.

On the blue line, Graves is going to be the one that intrigues most people as they will get a look at how he has progressed. However McIlrath getting a second straight game is interesting, since he appears to be in direct competition with Adam Clendening.

With the roster still at 50 players, my guess is the next cuts take place before the Saturday game. Guys like Graves and Gilmour, who are destined for Hartford, are probably next on the list.
