These eight were expected to receive qualifying offers. Qualifying offers, for the amounts below, secure their rights, and guarantee compensation if one signs an offer sheet with another team.
#NYR minimum qualifying offers
Hrivik- $632,500
McIlrath- $660,000
Jensen – $874,125
Miller – $917,700
Hayes – $945,000
Kreider – $2,600,000— HockeyStatMiner (@HockeyStatMiner) June 27, 2016
It is highly unlikely that any sign their qualifying offer, but it has happened before. Miller, Hayes, and Kreider are in line for huge raises. McIlrath as well, but not to the eye-popping number that the others might be getting.
Forwards Luke Adam, Michael St. Croix, Chris McCarthy, and Josh Nichols, and defensemen Mike Kantor, and Sam Noreau were not extended qualifying offers. For most, it likely ends their tenure in the Rangers organization.
