I went to bed before the second period started last night, so there won’t be a full goal breakdown. My apologies on that. But just because I went to bed, it doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun with a post this morning. Let’s go through some pros and cons from last night’s game.

Pro: Hey, they salvaged one point on this three game road trip.

Con: This three game road trip was against three terrible teams.

Pro: Tanner Glass scored!

Con: Tanner Glass shouldn’t be your best skater over these three games.

Pro: Dylan McIlrath has been solid.

Con: It’s scary how low our expectations are when a good pass out of the defensive zone to start a rush gets us all giddy and excited.

Pro: Emerson Etem is finally getting playing time…

Con: On the fourth freaking line again.

Pro: The Rangers won the possession battle for all three games!

Con: Winning the possession battle doesn’t mean you will win games.

Pro: The Rangers won the possession battle, so the process is right!

Con: Uh, did you watch these tire fires? The defense is terrible.

Pro: We’ve identified the defense as a major issue for this team.

Con: No one else thinks the defense is a major issue for this team.

Pro: We warned that these losses were coming, despite better possession numbers.

Con: The losses are coming, with no end in sight.

Pro: They came back from down 4-1 last night.

Con: Why in the world were they down 4-1 to the Calgary Flames?

Pro: They tied the game late on the powerplay, showing big cajones.

Con: Why in the world were they down 4-1 to the Calgary Flames?

Pro: The Rangers have an easy game against the Oilers on Tuesday at home, a perfect game to get back on track.

Con: Uh, did you watch Friday night’s game?

Pro: No more west coast games!

Con: Until March.
