Hartford, CT, November 7, 2015 – The Hartford Wolf Pack suffered their second consecutive home shutout loss Saturday night at the XL Center, falling 4-0 to the Albany Devils.

Former Wolf Pack Yann Danis blanked his old team, making 24 saves, and Blake Coleman and Corey Tropp had a goal and an assist each for the Devils. The Wolf Pack were coming off of a 5-0 home loss to Toronto Wednesday.

Magnus Hellberg started in net and took the loss, allowing three goals on 13 shots. Jeff Malcolm stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced in relief.

The Wolf Pack started the game with an early power play, with Joseph Blandisi called for hooking at 1:48. The Devils were able to turn it around, however, and score a shorthanded goal just 2:53 into the game. The goal was scored by Mike Sislo on a 2-on-1 with Blake Pietila.

Midway through the second Albany stuck twice in quick succession, scoring twice during a 4-on-4 situation. The penalties were on Albany’s Rod Pelley at 10:18 for delay of game, and the Wolf Pack’s Adam Tambellini at 11:02 for holding. \

The first goal was scored by Tropp at 11:55, off of a faceoff win by Coleman. The second was scored just 18 seconds later by Reid Boucher, who worked the puck away from Marek Hrivik and snapped a hard shot past Hellberg.

That ended Hellberg’s night, and the Devils completed the scoring at 17:41. That was on Coleman’s second of the year, a deflection of a Tropp bid.

The Wolf Pack controlled much of the third period, outshooting the Devils 12-6, but Coach Ken Gernander commented that, “Until we do that for extended periods of time, 60 minute frames, it’s not good enough.”

“I think we really have to focus on playing the right way and our third period is pretty indicative of that,” forward Shawn O’Donnell said. “Nothing better than, after a game like that, having an afternoon game the next day to get right back at it, and put this one behind us but still learn from it.”

The Wolf Pack are back in action Sunday, traveling to Bridgeport for their first battle of the season with the Sound Tigers. Faceoff is 5:00, and all of the action can be heard live on News Radio 1410 WPOP, and on-line at www.newsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio. Video streaming is available at www.ahllive.com.

The Wolf Pack’s next home game is Sunday, November 15, a 4:00 contest against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. All Wolf Pack Sunday home games feature the “Click It or Ticket” Family Value Pack. That includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for only $35.
