Hockey is finally back. The Rangers are at home to take on the Devils tonight in their preseason opener. While the game may be meaningless, there are battles to be fought and roster spots to be won. Five players in the lineup tonight are fighting for a roster spot, and most eyes tonight will be on them.
Dan Boyle was scheduled to be in the lineup tonight, but he is being replaced by Kevin Klein. No updates have been given, but what has been made public is that the switch was due to a family issue.
What have they done lately?
The Devils are not expected to be good this year, and are likely going to be cellar dwellers this year. But they do have talent, a solid netminder, and a new coach.
Devils Systems
John Hynes has his club running a 1-2-2 forecheck, a low zone collapse, an umbrealla powerplay and a hybrid penalty kill.
