We all know where things stand, and at this point further analysis seems pointless.

The reality of a win-or-go-home game is that a single bounce can end your season – or extend it.

As most expected, Washington has given New York all it can handle over the last two weeks. The Blueshirts’ affinity for one-goal games has gotten extremely annoying, but it’s unlikely to change tonight.

They could lose this game. But if you’re having doubts, then simply turn to The Great Eraser, Henrik Lundqvist.

Despite what Evgeny Kuznetsov might think, Lundqvist is the Rangers’ greatest advantage over the Capitals, the same way he is over every opponent they face.

Top to bottom, Washington has proven that it is as good as – and perhaps even better than New York. But in a pivotal Game 7 at home, Lundqvist is the team’s trump card.

We actually write pretty infrequently about Lundqvist, because what else is there to say about The King when words don’t do justice to his importance?

But as the clock ticks down to 7:30, just remember that Lundqvist has won an NHL record five-straight Game 7s and has a 1.00 GAA, .965 SV% and a shutout in those situations. He’s pretty good.
