The New York Rangers have placed forward Ryan Malone on unconditional waivers. If he clears, the two can part ways and mutually terminate Malone’s deal. Malone has been in Hartford for the majority of the season, so his contract does not count against the Rangers cap. If/when he clears, the Rangers will open up a spot on their reserve list, which was at 50 (I believe). An extra spot gives them more wiggle room at the deadline.
