Another series, another Game Seven. Do we expect anything else at this point? This time around, the Rangers roared back after trailing 3-1 in the series to force this Game Seven in Pittsburgh, so at least the scenario has changed this series.

Justin did an entire breakdown of this series, and it’s great reading if you haven’t done so already. The Rangers made me look smart when I said that if they win Game Five, they will win Game Six and send it back to Pittsburgh. Make me look even smarter when I said the Rangers are a great matchup against the Pens, and win this too to complete the comeback.

  1. One thing that concerns me about this game is that Rangers really have yet to show in playoffs that they can fall behind and come back. The only game they won where they were losing at any point was Game 1 of the PHI series, when they fell behind 1-0. And in that case they knotted it up at 1 a few minutes later, so it’s hard to draw on that game for confidence in their ability to come back. That said, PIT hasn’t come back in a game in this series either. And who thought late last Wednesday night we’d be in this situation anyway? I think it’s a tremendous achievement just to come back to force a Game 7 when you’ve been all but left for dead as they were.

  2. Wow. Just wow. Amazing comeback. Lundqvist really is the King. Suit, we need you to pick against the Rangers again next round. Montreal or Boston?

  3. I’m just soooo proud of this group. I’ve always been a “glass-half-empty” type of guy; especially when it comes to the Rangers. After game 4, you knew it was over; it always has been in the past. But tonight has rekindled that feeling I had in 1979, that maybe, just maybe they could do it. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving them the Cup off one incredible comeback. But still, if we’re looking for defining moments of a Season, I think we have reached it. They moved themselves up a notch. Now the hard part comes: sealing the deal. The next Series is gonna be a war, no matter who they face. But you know what, I actually have some real belief that they might find away to advance to the Finals. I can’t believe I am actually saying that, but I am. They have a shot!!!!!

  4. Rangers hang on to send the Penquins packing. Yes, in the end they resorted to that shot blocking, collapsing style of hockey that fans detest…. but they got the “W” and that is what counts. Now they can take a much needed rest and prepare for their next opponent.

      • You Torts guys give it a Fcken break. The winning goal scored by a guy he benched in last years playoffs.Assisted by a guy if Torts was here wouldn’t be here MSL.On the PP which Torts never had.

  5. The question I asked when we had the write up on Boyle yesterday was, “When all the chips are on the line, who is out there protecting the lead”??

Well first of all, thanks Brian for a great game, and those soft hands of concrete. You may have converted some of your haters with your defense, and goal.

Last night we went back to the prevent defense in the third, it was all I could take, but a win is a win, and we advance. I questioned this teams guts, well thank you for proving me wrong!!

Now to that pus*y Cindy, go to hell, and please take Igor with you. These guys are dirty, and if we don’t win another game, we knocked out both Filthadelphia, and the fruit from Pittsburgh. Don’t be to suprised if Bylsma isn’t gone, and that team has a bunch of turnover, but who cares!!

Joe719 made a comment about 1979, and he may be on to something, let’s just hope he is right. JD was good then, but Hank is in another world, meaning no disrespect to JD!!
