Another night, another big game for the Rangers. This time, it’s win or go home. Well, it’s win and come home too, but you know what I mean. The Rangers have been thoroughly thrashed for two of the past three games, and had the worst luck ever conceived by man for that other one (Game Three). If they play like they did in Games One and Three, they have a shot. If they play like they did in Games Two and Four, they are done.

Justin did an entire breakdown of this series, and it’s great reading if you haven’t done so already. The Rangers will need to find a way to win. I think if they win tonight, they will also win Game Six and send it back to Pittsburgh for a Game Seven. That’s a big IF though.

Rangers Lines:

Chris Kreider-Derek Stepan-Rick Nash
Carl Hagelin-Brad Richards-Martin St. Louis
Benoit Pouliot-Derick Brassard-Mats Zuccarello

Marc Staal-Anton Stralman
John Moore-Kevin Klein

Henrik Lundqvist gets the start.

Scratches/Injuries: Raphael Diaz (healthy), Ryan Haggerty (healthy), Jesper Fast (healthy) Justin Falk (healthy), J.T. Miller (healthy), Dan Carcillo (healthy)

  1. Win the next two and force a game 7? I like your style.

How about another crazy idea? They win 4-1 while netting 2 ppg’s. Nash gets a goal and MSL plays like a man possessed coming off the emotions of his mom passing (condolences) and scores 2.

  2. 1-0 Rangers on a PP goal. The difference in this game so far is the Rangers are asserting themselves and winning the battles along the boards. Not sure why it took them being down 3 games to 1 to figure this out. Brassard just scored to make it 2-0. yay

  3. They scored on the PP on a bad angle shot. Brass scored on a bad rebound. Haven’t we been saying they need to shoot on Fleury?

  4. Crosby is whining, that’s a good sign. 4-1 Rangers, they need to keep their foot on Pittsburgh’s throat and play hard through the 3rd period. Love the 5 on 3 PK….Boyle with a great shot block.

  5. So they finally put their big boy pants on, and took some man juice before going out on the ice. Now lets see them do it again: 2 more times!!!!! Even more impressive was the fact that they did it one again without any goals from our latest imported stiff. This just make the other night so much more frustrating. This better not be another chapter of the Ranger tease; just enough to keep you hanging around, before they break your heart once again!
