The Rangers have called up the following players to serve as the taxi squad for this year’s playoff run:

These players will likely not see any action, but are with the team for practices.

Not that it matters much, but should we be surprised Asham is not on the list?

I think the “black aces” practiced separately in years past. I’d guess Haggerty will join them.

Asham just wasn’t very good this year and was scratched on occasion at Hartford. If the Rangers have a rash of injuries, Powe can play at the level he did last year, but Asham would be a disaster.

Which player might see action is what player might get injured . Can’t play Kristo on fourth line , but could play Hrivik there . Think Diaz would be first D , and Connor Allen next . Hope we don’t need any of them . Who comes out when Kreider comes back .I would think either Car Bomb or Dorsett . If a Center goes down think i woukd try Miller , or even put him on the fourth line

Hrivik won’t play unless there are many many injuries. He just showed very little this year. Among these forwards, we’d most likely see Lindberg (probably best) or Powe (safe veteran).

Why would scratch Carcillo after that game 3?

Who do you scratch when Kreider is ready to come back. Maybe Pouliut for his brain freezes

      • Chris A says:

For Kreider, you scratch Carcillo. Kreider brings physical play and skill. Carcillo is doing an admirable job but he is a liability. Remember, he played under 10 minutes on Tuesday. That ends up shortening the bench if the fourth line plays under 12 minutes and another forward plays under 10.

Now, if Pouliot continues to play like he did in Game 3, you’re 100% right, you scratch him instead of Carcillo. I seriously doubt Benny has another stinker like that though.
