The folks at MSG were kind enough to remind me that the the newest episode of Beginnings, featuring defenseman John Moore, will air tonight following the game against Columbus. There’s some video up at MSG.com now, and there will be more videos added around 3pm this afternoon. Check after the jump for the full notice.

Tonight, immediately following coverage of the Rangers-Blue Jackets game from Madison Square Garden, MSG Network will present an all-new episode of the original series “Beginnings” featuring Rangers defenseman John Moore. The Winnetka, IL native takes MSG’s cameras back to his hometown to meet the people who have had the most influence on his young career including his family, friends and coaches.

“I always believed that I was destined to be an NHL player and I think my altered sense of reality combined with a work ethic and a love for hockey ultimately allowed me to arrive at that dream.”

In the episode, Moore reveals a childhood frustration with figure skaters and the amount of time they took up on the shared ice at his local rink. He also shows off the item that he purchased with his first NHL contract – a Blademaster skate sharpener.

“A lot of my teammates, the first thing they bought was a car or put a down payment on a home, but I always wanted a skate sharpener.”

While touring around Winnetka, Moore notes that his hometown is known for a number of movies that have been shot there over the years, including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Sixteen Candles, as well as Home Alone, whose famous “McAllister’s House” he points out on the trip.
