The Rangers kick off December with Winnipeg coming to town. This game starts the first of 10 11 at home, with just 4 of them coming against teams in the playoffs. If there was ever a time to make a run, now is that time. With some key wins, the Rangers could really put some distance between themselves and the bottom-five teams in the division. They are healthy. They are playing (somewhat) well. This is the time to make their run.

Claude Noel has the Jets playing a 1-2-2 forecheck and will have them play passively in the neutral zone or aggressive in the opposition’s zone based on time left in the period and the score. Their game plan is generally to sick back and score off of transition rushes or by crashing the net after point shots. Winnipeg also plays a low zone collapse with four players, but will allow a skater to pressure the points, though they’re a bit of an adventure in their own end. On special teams, the Jets run an umbrella powerplay strategy and a simple box penalty kill.
