Game 13: Building confidence vs. Carolina

On the ice, the Canes play a bit of a hybrid forechecking system. They play an aggressive 2-3 to start the game, but will switch to a trap late in the game with a lead. In the defensive zone , they run box + 1 system, which is a box setup in front with a player pressuring depending on the puck location. On special teams, the Canes run an umbrella powerplay and a hybrid  penalty kill (varies between the systems based on puck location).

  1. Is it the Cains or Sabres you were analyzing here? I think it’s a typo but you started with the Canes then went to the Sabres.

      • No problem. We all knew what you meant. As readers it’s our job to help out as editors. It’s done by committee here at BSB. This team could be something if it were 100% healthy. They looked solid in all 3 zones tonight. Big test Monday.

  2. The Rangers are not deep enough to take nights off. As long as they remember that, they should be fine here against a very ordinary and also injured Hurricane squad.

    • and another PP goal. 24 PP goals all of last year with our forwards healthy for most of the year. 9 PP goals so far missing 3 of our best forwards for the majority of the season.

Team is actually entertaining to watch. I love everything AV is doing

    • and there it is… I’m still waiting for Dorsett to be a fan favorite in the mold of Prust. So far he’s just frustrating

  3. I’ll tell you what, they are fun to watch right now! Let’s see how they do against better teams, but I like what we are seeing.

    • You’ll get that chance Monday against the Ducks & Wednesday against the Pens.
