Zipay: Lines altered for Nash’s absence

Per Steve Zipay, the Rangers have altered their lines to compensate for Rick Nash’s injury:

And #NYR lines: Pouliot-Richards-Callahan;Pyatt-Step-Fast:Boyle-Brassard-Zuke: Dorsett-Moore-Asham

AV also altered the ineffective defense pairings:

#NYR dpairs: Staal-Girardi;: Stralman-McD, Moore-Del Zotto

These are, well, interesting to say the least. Let’s see how it all plays out.

  1. I’m not sure how I feel about moving Richards back to center. He was playing his best hockey as a Ranger while on the wing. I would not have messed with that.

Why didn’t they just move Cally off of the third line and insert him in to Nash’s spot? They’re both RWs right?

    • Putting Richards on the LW had nothing to do with him playing better. Maybe the defensive responsibilities were easier but unlike last year he came to camp ready to play and it shows. I knew he would be just fine after a full summer and camp. all the people that wanna write him off after a single bad year. A bad year he had no time to prepare for. Aside from that, 60-70 points is pretty much a given for Richards every year. This season is no different!

  2. Still waiting for game 20. When the question will be either. Will we make the playoffs or who will Avs replacement be.

    • I’m still waiting for game #7. It’s Bobble head night at the meadowlands. I don’t know if I’m gonna take a Prevacid or just bring Tums. The Hot Dogs. Wow!
