Rick Nash leaves game after taking elbow to head (Update: Stuart gets 3 games)

Update (10/10/13): Brendan Shanahan has handed down a three game suspension to Brad Stuart.

Update (10/9/13): Brad Stuart has a phone hearing with the league. Since this is a phone hearing, the maximum suspension Stuart can receive is five games.

Original Post (10/8/13): Rick Nash has not returned from the locker room after the first intermission, and will not play for the rest of the game. John Giannone announced on the Rangers broadcast that Nash is suffering from some ill effects after taking a Brad Stuart elbow to the head. Naturally we are all thinking concussion, but let’s just hope he’s just a little dizzy.

  1. It look like a elbow to me, but I am a bias Ranger fan. I hope Nash is ok, he’s a good Canadian kid.

      • for sure. i expect to see this team poop the bed a few more times before starting to put it all together.

also feel like it is ranger fan karma for the glimmer of hope i felt at the 5-on-3 goal last night

  2. Best way to stop a lot of this stuff ,if a player gets suspended for any reason then that team plays one man down for as long as the suspension lasts . That would make the players more accountable to their team Like to hear some feed back on this

    • Another option, if a player is concussed, and can’t play say 10-15 games, the guy who did the hitting should have to sit out the same number of games, without pay. See how quickly the crap stops!

  3. If Edmonton needs some D man see if they want Girardi and what they will give back in return

  4. Best way to stop this is drop the instigator rule. Let em duke it out.

You take my guy out with a dirty hit then my guy will be hunting you down. You will get leveled and you will leave the game with an injury.

Mcsorly did it for Gretzky in la. And we need to do it here.
