Ryan Callahan cleared for contact

After Derek Stepan re-signed earlier today, the Rangers received another piece of great news tonight as Ryan Callahan was cleared for contact.  MSG reported the info during the first period of tonight’s game.

Callahan has been skating alongside his teammates for weeks and being cleared was his last major obstacle.  Callahan should be in good condition, so he might not be far away from game action.

Could the captain be in the opening night lineup against Phoenix next Thursday?  It’s not impossible.  Jesper Fast and Marek Hrivik probably hope he needs another week, though.

It is to early to hit the panic button. They looked more like a team last night compared to the first few preseason games.

I hate to get on Richards but I don’t see much improvement from last year.

I think you will see a bunch of people being waivesd and or traded.

Not really, still adjusting to new coach, new system, still playing around, and I don’t think that was Hank’s proudest performance.

Think some are shaking off rust and making adjustments to a new system. I’ll worry a month in if they are looking like this. They also had some real good opportunities tonight and Luongo robbed them.

I think with Cally and Step coming back it will be a big mental boost to the guys out there.

Last nights game was indicative of where each coaches respective previous team was left at

Torts adjustments in van won’t take effect until a few games in the season.

Same with av. If we are 3-17 at the 20 mark. Then hit the button.
