Per Alex Nunn, who you should be following on Twitter for your Euro Ranger updates, Hartford forward Kelsey Tessier has decided not to re-sign with Hartford and head to Sweden. Tessier, who was originally a 2008 4th round draft pick by Colorado, and subsequently was not signed and re-entered the draft in 2010 (undrafted), spent three seasons with the Whale/Wolfpack, registering 33 goals and 49 assists over 221 games.

Tessier’s departure shows a commitment by the Rangers to open top-six minutes up for their big prospects, but also shows how Tessier was likely unable to secure a two-way NHL/AHL contract.
