Clowe on the ice at practice

Per Dan Rosen, injured winger Ryane Clowe is on the ice for practice today. Clowe has been out since Game Five of the Washington series with a likely concussion. While this is always promising news, let’s remember that Marc Staal has been practicing for a while, and he’s only played in one playoff game. This is a hopeful sign, but until we hear confirmation he is playing, it is still just a hopeful sign.

Andrew Gross is reporting that Darroll Powe is on the ice at practice as well. Anton Stralman and Chris Kreider were not at the optional.

I had so much hope for the Rangers going up against Boston. Unfortunately, they’ve been exposed as mere pretenders. Let’s stop the agony and end it in 4.

After such an underwhelming season offensively, the last thing Clowe needed was extensive concussion concerns – especially going into free agency. I’m very wary of re-signing him in the off-season for a number of reasons – draft pick compensation, cap hit (esp. when we’ve got to pay 21, 27, and 62), performance drop-off, and now injury potential.

Not to mention that bringing Clowe + Zuc back makes it very hard to see how Kreider can get any sort of regular minutes next season.

Feel like CK needs to marinate still in the AHL. Fast and Lindbergh probably closer to being NHL ready

CK jerked around by Torts, his system exposed as wrong, useless crap it is.

CK here next year, no Torts, no head games bothering Kreider, who will make a few mistakes, and many many more good plays, no problem

Clowe has been good until the concussions so I would try to sign him to a short term deal. We have some kids ready to be brought up. Kreider, Miller, Thomas, McIlrath and possibly Yogans along with Lindberg and Fast. With exceptions Thomas and Fast all these guys have size which we could use. Lost some respect for Tort’s with Kreider. Should have told him to just go play his game but be defensively responsible. We can’t score goals and a guy who can score he takes out of the lineup!
