Clowe in contact jersey at practice

May 5, 2013, by

Per Dan Rosen, Ryane Clowe is participating in practice today in a full contact jersey. This is the first time Clowe is in a contact jersey since his injury, and his second practice. With the Rangers in desperate need of offense, Clowe’s return to the lineup would be a big one.

Per Rosen, Marc Staal was also at practice today in a full contact jersey.

Did you feel that the addition of Boyle and Dorsett yesterday had a positive effect on the team, or do you think it was an adjustment that hindered consistency?

Similarly, do you expect that if Clowe and Staal were to be injected into the lineup tomorrow that would be a boost, or cause some adjustment setback?

This is very good news, hope he can play monday!!

Islanders going toe to toe with penguins. Are we just that bad or is it how we play? Isles are fast, entertaining and super fun to watch. Why do we look like renneys rangers when our team had limited talent? Our games are tedious and boring, especially when we play the best teams.

Evan, It is the way the Rangers play. Look, how many teams have or had the speed of the top 3 or 4 rangers (Hagelin, Kreider, Gaborik(when he was here), Nash etc.) And some of the dmen are pretty good skaters as well, yet we are playing an along the boards mucking game that is ok for Pyatt and Clowe. In the end we can blame the GM for what he has put together (although it is not over yet this year), but i think he has put enough on the ice, along with the goalie to beat the likes of the Caps, and Sens, and Montreal for sure. Yet it seems like it takes a supreme effort to get it done against these types of team. That points to the coaching (or not getting enough out of the players by the coach).

im just frustrated by the lack of possesion. it seems our dmen would rather chip it out, even early in a shift, (i dont care when youve been out there over a minute) but there will be one forchecker out there; just pass it to your d partner, no need to throw 50/50 pucks into the neutral zone

I believe we can win this series, but I am just getting really fed up with how tedious our games are and how impossible it seems it is for us to get goals. It should not be this way and the power play continues to be awful year over year with torts. Larry Brooks’ article today was spot on about that subject.

I also find it comical i received 2 dislikes for a comment when nothing of what i said was remotely incorrect. I received 5 dislikes after we qualified for the playoffs against carolina and i said I am very worried about our PP entering the playoffs. I hate that we lost 2 games, but the PP is the reason we are down 2-0.

I would like to see Clowe back on Richards line with the Hobbit. Marc Stall if he is ready would provide more offence then Emmer. Boyle and Dorsett brought a lot of energy to Game 2. If the Rangers had any kind of a PP this series would be tied for sure. As much of I like Girardi, he doesn’t have a rocket shot from the point. Much rather see Del Zotto, McDonagh even Moore on the point on the PP. This team has a lot of pride they will be ready to go when the whistle blows tomorrow night.
