Whale sign Barclay Goodrow to ATO

The Connecticut Whale have signed undrafted free agent forward Barclay Goodrow to an ATO. Goodrow, who just finished his fourth season with the Brampton Battalion of the OHL, led the team with 38 goals in 62 games this season. The 6’2, 214 lb, 20-year old forward scored at least 20 goals in each of his last three seasons. He also scored five points (2-3-5) in five playoff games this season.

As more teams are eliminated from CHL contention, expect some ATOs to be signed by a few guys. This is essentially a tryout for Goodrow.

Curious why he was not drafted….I wonder if Jess can give us the skinny on some of these FA we just signed recently

Not many of the 20-goal 30-point guys get drafted, which is what he was in his draft year.

I see…he seems like he has size and scoring ability….he might become a diamond in the rough signing

Barclay was at 2012 prospect development camp, played in Traverse City with Carolina in 2011
