Zipay: Zuccarello skating with Richards, Gaborik to fourth line

Per Steve Zipay, Mats Zuccarello’s insertion to the lineup has had an effect up and down the lineup. Zuccarello was skating with Brad Richards and Chris Kreider, while Marian Gaborik was shifted all the way to the fourth line with Kris Newbury and Taylor Pyatt. With the top line remaining the same, the third line will have J.T. Miller, Ryan Callahan, and Brian Boyle.

With these new lines, Arron Asham is the newest member of the Press Box Club. He will be joining Darroll Powe and Matt Gilroy in the press box.

4th line can track down pucks for gaborik. Newbury was good with kreider on the top line for the whale. Hopefully playing with gaborik has a similar effect

There’s always a positive swing to it, but that line is defensively atrocious.

    • Bluesboy says:

How hysterical is this… someone posts a line combination for a Tortorella-coached team? What, like it will actually be in effect for MORE THAN THE VERY FIRST SHIFT?

  2. Bloomer says:

Good place for Gaborik. I always like the chemistry between Cally and Boyle and the hobbit will help with the crappy PP.

  3. mikeyyy says:

Wow. That’s all I have to say.

now the question is, how long will it take for Gabby to demand a trade.

  4. The Suit says:

Honestly, just trade Gaborik already. Waste of cap space.

    • Alex says:

torts should go before Gabby does.

Torts is going to burn out Henrik the next couple of games, and blow away our season (because the only thing from keeping us from being the worst two or three teams in the league is Henrik). How is this clown still at the helm of this team?

He was completely out coached in the playoffs; sather should have sent him packing after we were getting repeatedly worked by the senators.

    • HARLEMBLUES says:

How does B.Rich get a past.He has far more than Gaborik killed this team.Over paid period.

    • Walt says:

      Amen!

He is dead meat out there, no pulse, no heart beat, and no balls!!!!!

  5. Doctor Col says:

Good to hear! Can’t take another poor performance in front of goal. It’s too hard to watch.

  6. Bloomer says:

He gets a pass Harlemblues because the Rangers are stuck with him. Gaborik still could possibly bring something back in a trade. If Richards continues to stink the place out he be bought out.

  7. Rob says:

Alex I hate to agree with you but you’re 100% right about Tort’s being out coached in the first round last year. In fact, I believe it was THAT series that exposed our weaknesses and opponents have taken advantage of our deficiencies ever since.

    • Rob says:

However, as far as Tort’s needing to go is something that I’m not so sure about….yet. The guys a proven winner, and we don’t have to necessarily like our coach, but I just wish he would adapt to what he has, instead of always TRYING to play the same way with different horses. Again, I may not like him, but I still believe he can win here.

  8. Jerry says:

And while we are at it get rid of dead weight Boyle too.he is useless.

  9. Rangers Fans says:

When the chips are down, (most of) you guys commenting here the worst–but its cool because that’s what our fan base is like. Since everyone ran Renney out of town first chance they got as such a loser I’m glad you’re finally being rough on Torts (Renney did much more with far far less), but jeez everybody always hates our team. Dubs has one bad season and you hate him, rip him to no end. Had no love for Anisimov either. Now we have no identity, and you wonder why? Richards was great last year, and you all wanted us to sign him the same way you wanted Gomez and Drury and how you guys booed Jagr his last season even though 4 years later he scores more goals than anyone on our team. You’re always on Delzotto’s ass, and the kids like 22. If I had my way I’d replace the coach with someone with class (or at least enough class to be nice to sam rosen) who believes in his players enough to keep the lines together, and I’d trade for a fanbase who doesn’t resent people for the money your team decides to pay them. This is your team, stop hating them.
