Chris Kreider scored the first goal for the Connecticut Whale of the AHL in their 3-0 win over the Manchester Monarchs (LA Kings). Kreider’s goal, a shorthanded goal, was the eventual game winner, scored on a breakaway. Other goals were scored by Brandon Mashinter (on the powerplay) and Andrew Carroll. Kyle Jean, Kris Newbury, Andrew Yogan, Logan Pyett, and Mike Vernace all added assists. Jason Missiaen got the shutout.
