Rangers recall Chris Kreider

Chris Kreider’s stay in Connecticut was relatively short, at least for the time being, as he was recalled by the Rangers. From several accounts, Rick Nash appears to be sick –as he had to bail on the season subscriber forum last night– so Kreider will be replacing him in the lineup if need be.

Kreider played in last night’s 4-1 win for the Whale, finishing with a shot on goal, a -1 rating, and 2 PIMs.

Only reasonable reason for this is Nash is hurt. Lucic hit?

I would have expected Ferrerio especially since after a demotion CK only got 1 shot on goal.

But if Torts needs someone for top 6 minutes, maybe there are going to give him a spot.

If the reason for CK demotion was that he needed playing time, calling him up makes him miss a Whale Game tonight and tomorrow.

When Ferreiro gets sent down, he has to go through waivers I believe whereas Kreider doesn’t. Probably Ferreiro doesn’t get claimed, but why take the risk for one game he may not even play in.

I think the reason could just be caution in case Nash’s sickness goes into tomorrow night and he can’t play. A lot of players are going through the flu this time of year.

The reason Kreider would be called up before The Whale game tonight, it probably because if he had to play tomorrow, that would be three games in three days for him (last night, tonight, tomorrow).

Crap. I’m going to the game tomorrow night and was really looking forward to seeing Nash play.
